Phenterran is a place of many ecological and evolutionary wonders, and the pokemon there reflect the creative ways that nature deals with challenges. Some of the pokemon found in this land have been ressurected from fossils, some are living ancestors to modern pokemon species.

Fossil pokemon have been done by nearly every pokemon fan out there, so these creatures laid to rest by the sands of time are not what I'll be looking for.

Here is your challenge

Create an ancestral pokemon species and describe what conditions led to your described species becoming its modern decendant(s).

Examples:
Changes through domestication by humans: [link]

Rules

-New Deviations only. One entry per person.
You may switch or update your entry at any time before the deadline.

-Your pokemon may have more than one decending family line.

-Pokemon typing must make sense.

-Pokemon may be an ancestor to any official pokemon or Phenterran pokemon (see deviations in this account on Phenterran's pokemon. Note me for information on types, etc if they are not yet given.)

-Please include all stages for your pokemon (single, 2 stage, 3 stage) in your entry & send me a note or comment in this journal to direct me to your entry


DEADLINES

-Entries will be accepted starting March 20th 00:01 AM PST.

-The deadline will be May 12th 11:59 PM PST. Late entries will not be accepted. Late switch out requests will not be made.

-Judging will take place May 13th.

-Winners will be announced on May 15th with a full critique behind the judges' choice.

-IF this contest exceeds 20 participants, a viewer's choice vote off will follow after the winners have been announced. The winner of the viewer's choice will be chosen from all entrants who did not place.
